Template or Custom Website?
Evaluate the choice between a annual template website plan and a customized website based on budget, brand presentation, functional limitations, and subsequent management.
DFocus Integrated Marketing | 2026-10-24
First, check if the requirements match the existing solutions.
Template websites are suitable for businesses whose needs fall within the existing template and functional scope; customized websites are designed and developed according to brand, target audience, and functional specifications. For both, delivery, maintenance, and costs should be confirmed first, and quality should not be judged solely based on the names "package" or "customized."
Four comparison directions
- Brand visuals: Which areas can be adjusted from the existing layout? Is a separate main page design required?
- Website Functionality: Are the necessary functions currently supported? How can special processes be expanded?
- Management and Data: Who can update the content? Can data be exported? What are the conditions for transfer?
- Recurring costs: Are annual fees, domain names, hosting, SSL certificates, licenses, and maintenance billed separately?
DFocus Budget Reference
DFOCUS's entry-level plan is NT$7,000 for the first year, including a NT$5,000 annual fee and a one-time NT$2,000 setup fee. Renewal is NT$5,000 per year. All prices are in TWD and include tax. The plan includes Home, Products and Contact pages, up to 30 listings, five freely interchangeable responsive templates, a CMS, social links, a .COM domain, SSL, cloud hosting and initial setup and content assistance. Premium template licenses, extra pages, custom features and advanced SEO/GEO are separate. This is an annual subscription, not a one-time website buyout. Custom websites are scoped separately, with planning budgets of NT$100,000–200,000, NT$200,000–300,000 or NT$400,000 and above depending on requirements.

What else should be confirmed when redesigning an existing website?
Organize the URLs, content, files, and backend data to be retained, and confirm the relocation of old URLs, data transfer, and downtime arrangements. If the new website cannot directly use the original functions, this should be stated during the planning stage to avoid discovering omissions before launch.
How to begin our first conversation?
Provide the existing website address, main target audience, necessary pages and functions, budget, and launch date. First, confirm a suitable solution, then refine the design and acceptance specifications. The above are planning budgets in New Taiwan dollars; detailed pricing needs to be discussed and confirmed.
